To tackle the complex development challenges we face today, big new solutions and ideas are needed in global policy debates. The Institute works to grow capacity for innovative policy design by supporting the activities of think tanks in middle-income economies and offering learning programs in support of the World Bank Group Academy. 

These efforts aim to help stakeholders stay on the frontier of development data and insights. Our learning programs are organized according to the Knowledge Bank's five verticals: People, Prosperity, Planet, Infrastructure, and Digital, plus a special focus on Development Data. Through these events and courses, we aim to equalize access to and the production of research and knowledge for policy making.

One of our priorities is evaluating the outcomes of our programs and learning from participant feedback so that we can continuously improve our offerings.
