Modelling Long-Term Growth in Developing Countries

By analyzing the World Bank’s Long Term Growth Model (LTGM), a set of spreadsheet-based toolkits to model growth in developing countries applied in over 50 countries, this course provides the tools for governments to improve their long-term economic growth outlook. The course offers: an introduction to key growth concepts; growth data; the LTGM suite of models; and some case studies and hands-on workshops in small groups where participants will be asked to model future and past growth in their countries.

Introduction to Behavioral Science and Public Policy Tools

This virtual course equips participants with a strategic understanding of how behavioral science impacts policy effectiveness, enhancing outcomes in various sectors including education, healthcare, social norms, gender equality, tax compliance, climate change and more.  Discover the World Bank's unique approach and methodologies, developed through our 80 projects in collaboration with 70 partners and across 50 countries. Participants will gain valuable insights into how people think, and how these cognitive biases influence actions and decisions.

Capital Markets Development: Advanced Topics

This course explores advanced concepts in the development of capital markets, providing participants with a comprehensive review of three core topics: financial instruments issued in capital markets; the role of institutional investors as financial intermediaries; and the response of firms and governments as issuers of equity and debt. The course combines theory with state-of-the-art data analytics tools to offer insights into these subjects.

Measuring Wealth in Household Surveys in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Vulnerability Perspective

This introductory-level course presents a conceptual framework and practical advice for measuring consumption, income, and wealth by shedding light upon their importance for measuring living standards. The course offers practical guidelines for household survey data production and processing on income and wealth, including recommendations for questionnaire design, data validation, outlier detection and treatment.
